What does Progressivism stand for?

Progressivism stands for increasing accountability and decreasing corruption in the service of democracy.  In short, it is about speaking truth to power and giving that power to the people.  They stand for giving real workers across all economic spectrums rights and protections.  Do you believe in progressive politics?  Who do you think best stands for progressive politics?  How can we push progressive politics forward?

What are our values? How can we determine values?

 If you want your child to be fulfilled in life, the child has to be free enough to do that.  Therefore freedom is a value. You do not have very much freedom if there is no opportunity or prosperity.  Therefor opportunity and prosperity are progressive values.If you really care about your child, you want your child to be treated fairly by you and by others.  Therefore fairness is a value.If you are connecting with your child and you empathize with that child, you have open, two-way communication.  Honest communication.  That becomes a value. You live in a community, and that the community will affect how your child grows up.  Therefore, community building, service to the community, and cooperation in a community become values. To have cooperation, you must have trust, and to have trust you must have honesty and open two-way communication.  Trust, honesty, and open communication are fundamental progressive values–in a community as in a family.  Aren’t these the values that really make up family and community?  Aren’t these the values that made our nation great?  What do you think of these values?  Should others be prioritized?  

What is a progressive? What does progressivism stand for?

What are progressive values? What do they stand for? What’s their vision for moving the country forward? It wasn’t until recently that came to have a better understanding of what a progressive is. I searched the interwebs for clarification on the issue and wikipedia had a pretty decent answer: Progressivism historically advocates the advancement of workers’ rights and social justice. The progressives were early proponents of anti-trust laws and the regulation of large corporations and monopolies, as well as government-funded environmentalism and the creation of National Parks and Wildlife Refuges.Do you believe in workers rights?  Or do you think we should roll back the clock on these protections?  Does the American Dream include the workers?
